Watford have confirmed Cristian Battocchio did not suffer knee ligament damage at the weekend.

Battocchio was taken to hospital on Saturday evening after he was forced off during the 1-1 draw with Burnley.

The 22-year-old, who was at Vicarage Road on crutches last night, had a scan earlier this week and it confirmed he had not suffered ligament damage.

Head of medical Marco Cesarini also believes Arsenal loanee Chu-Young Park will be out for another two weeks with a toe injury.

"The situation is completely under control and everything is agreed with Arsenal and Park," Cesarini said.

CB: fantastic news, following on from Abdi's start last night... But why oh why is Park even here?! Surely the biggest joke loan signing since Townsend. Maybe worse as he still seems to be here despite spending almost his entire loan spell unfit of injured. Joke.

Yes, great news about Battocchio, thought he was our best player on Saturday until that bad foul that Attwell didn't give. I think CB is better than Murray at present, faster both on and off the ball.
Would like to know who's paying Park's wages and medical bills whilst he's STILL here - as you say, it's a joke.
Strange how those loanees Townsend and Drinkwater were useless with us - now one's an England international and the other's just got promoted with Leicester!
