Troy Deeney has missed out on winning the Championship Player of the Month award for March.

The Hornets’ top scorer was nominated after netting six goals in as many games last month to take his tally to 20 for the second consecutive season but the award has gone to Ravel Morrison, who is on-loan at Queens Park Rangers from West Ham United.

Ipswich Town centre-half Christophe Berra and Bournemouth full-back Simon Francis were also in contention for the monthly accolade.

Troy deserved this award.

Troy, go show them why they are were so wrong not to give it to you - a nice brace or hatrick against Burnley should do it ..

Can't believe Troy lost out to Morrison. Troy has been consistent for two seasons in scoring 20 goals each time (so far). Morrison plays for the flash money bags QPhaha, so he's bound to win! Perfect end to the season is that we reach the play offs with Troy hitting 30 for the season, beating QPR in semi finals, Morrison crawls back to whoever owns him, QPR massive fine for overspending on the FFP rules, Redknapp sacked, Hornets go to the Prem!

I don't really have anything against QPR.

Onwards and upwards Troy and the Hornets!

Much as I would have loved Troy to have won this award, I believe that, just like the Manager of the month award, it is a poison chalice and winning it would have meant that Troy wouldn't score any more goals this season. Now go on Troy and show them what you can do.......!
