Leyton Orient boss admits side will probably have to settle for play-offs after not beating Bradford and Oldham
Russell Slade admits Leyton Orient will probably have to settle for the play-offs and could be kicking themselves for failing to win their last two home matches.
The O’s conceded a last-minute equaliser in the draw against Oldham Athletic last week before losing 1-0 at home to Bradford City at the weekend. Had they taken maximum points from those games then they would be second in League 1, after Brentford failed to win their last three matches, but Orient’s hopes of automatic promotion are dwindling after their recent setbacks.
Slade said: “It probably is going to be the play-offs. It’s so frustrating the week we’ve just had. We might look back and kick ourselves but I’m not sure, certainly in terms of effort and commitment, we could have given much more in either of those games.”
He added: “Over the whole season it’s been absolutely excellent and I’m thrilled with it. The achievement that we’ve managed so far is monumental but as I keep saying there is so much more to play for.”
