Troy Deeney will be Watford’s only available striker for the second week running when the Hornets travel to Wigan Athletic in the Championship Saturday.

Fernando Forestieri misses the trip with a foot injury while on-loan Arsenal forward Chu-Young Park will also be absent as he has a thigh problem.

With Mathias Ranegie serving the second game of a three-match suspension, Deeney, who has netted 17 times this season, is the only striker Beppe Sannino will be able to choose from.

The Hornets head coach had the same conundrum against Barnsley last Saturday.

He partnered Deeney with Ikechi Anya up front and the duo’s impressive displays mean it is likely they will again lead the Watford attack at the DW Stadium. Midfielder Sean Murray will be unavailable as he has a groin injury while Fitz Hall remains out with an Achilles problem.

Almen Abdi is a long-term absentee and his foot injury keeps him out of contention. Striker Bernard Mensah, who is on loan at Braintree Town, faces a spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Lewis McGugan returned to action against Barnsley on Saturday after just under two months out with a thigh injury. He was brought off after 64 minutes as a precaution but is fit to face Wigan.

The form book doesn’t favour the Hornets ahead of tomorrow's contest. While Watford have not lost at home since January, they have failed to win away from Vicarage Road since October 5.

The Latics, who have taken 23 points from their last ten matches, were held to a 3-3 draw against Yeovil Town on Tuesday night but that was the first time they had failed to win a league game at home in 2014.

Ben Watson (double leg break) and Chris McCann (fractured knee cap) are both sidelined for the rest of the season. Uwe Rosler will also be missing Roger Espinoza, who is sidelined after a hernia operation.

Rösler has however strengthened his squad with the loan signing of West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison and he could make his debut against the Hornets.

When the two sides met earlier in the campaign, the Hornets won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Cristian Battocchio
