JOSH Scowen is back for Wanderers tonight as they face what manager Gareth Ainsworth described as a momentous game at Cheltenham Town.

The reigning Blues player of the year is back from a two game ban and is set to slot straight back into the side after his replacement Sam Togwell was sent off in Saturday's defeat by York.

Scowen was sorely missed in the two matches he was absent for, but particularly so on Saturday as York dominated the midfield and cruised to a 2-0 win.

Ainsworth was critical of his players' efforts - saying some of them were unrecognisable from the standards he has set for them - and said they have to be a whole lot better if they're to bounce back from two defeats in a row.

The Blues boss said: "It's a momentous game on Tuesday. The lads have got to be up for this one.

"It would have been even bigger if teams had won around us - nobody seems to have picked up any points.

"I'm positive we can get out [of trouble], but performances like today have got to be few and far between if we want to be anywhere near the middle of the table."

Club captain Stuart Lewis could also be back, with Ainsworth revealing he trained on Thursday after recovering from a hamstring strain only to be struck down by illness the following day.
