VIDEO: If you're a journalist using a mobile phone as a voice recorder, put it on flight mode. Otherwise Sean Dyche may answer your call

During his time at Watford, Sean Dyche didn’t appreciate mobile phones ringing in his press conferences. One journalist found that out the hard way on Saturday.

As the now Burnley boss discussed his side’s 2-1 win over Leeds United, the familiar buzz from a mobile - which was being used as a voice recorder - sounded.

Rather than stop his press conference, Dyche decided to answer the call. “Hello. It’s Sean Dyche the manager of Burnley Football Club, who’s that?”

If you were expecting a friend to answer your phone call, it’s probably a shock to hear the gravely tones of Dyche.

But after briefly explaining the situation, and asking if they were heading out for a few beers, Dyche handed the phone back to the journalist who would’ve learnt a valuable lesson.

That is, if you do use your phone as a voice recorder make sure it’s on flight mode. Otherwise you’ll never know who could answer your friend’s calls.

Good to see Sean going from an underling to be the gaffer premiership elect, confident and in charge.

Man management in a no nonsense but polite no nonsense fashion.

Gets the best out of players.

Brilliant, good british humour at it's best. He's like a different man now he's free of Bassinni's rancor.

Excellent. Top man ! Not point going over old ground but really pleased he's doing so well at Burnley. After a run of iffy appointments between and after the 2 GT periods (Lee, Perryman, etc) , it has to be said the Mackay/Rodgers/Dyche run were pretty inspired selections with all 3 set to have great futures on the management side.

Love that video! What a response - the guy on the other end put in his place, but without any ranting or raving, and not a swear word in earshot! If he is like that with his squad no wonder he is heading for the PL!

Sean is a top guy and I wish him luck.

Good man - knows the Championship through and through. Remember seeing him concede a penalty, get booked, them knock the opposition's keeper in the net to get sent off - can anyone recall the opponents and year?

Colin Lee, a bit like Mr O'Rielly in Fawlty Towers.

Sybil "He's cheap Basil because he's useless"

As for Bassett - GT took boys and turned them into men and Harry comes in with the attitude that he knows best and treats them all like boys again.

At least when he is asked about his brief cameo with Watford he admits he made mistakes and tried to change things too quickly.

Couldn't give a sh1t about MU & Lpool.

If we didn't have wealthy foreigners buying up football clubs Watford would be getting by in the Prem Lg. Pozzo family only helps us play catch up to where we would have been without Sugar Daddies buying top flight football places.

My only interest in the Prem Lg is which clubs goe belly up from not getting into Europe. MU & Spurs having f/big holes in their P&L next season?
