Eagles manager thanks Everton for hospitality after Goodison postponement
TONY Pulis has paid tribute to Everton FC for the way they looked after the Eagles in the wake of the recent Goodison Park postponement.
Last Wednesday’s Premier League encounter was called off by the Merseyside club on police advice shortly after 7pm because hurricane force winds had caused damage to houses in the streets surrounding the stadium.
It sadly meant a wasted trip to the School of Science for Pulis’ Crystal Palace team and the club’s supporters.
But although there was plenty of stick directed at the Toffees in the immediate aftermath, most of it perfectly understandable bearing in mind the obvious frustration of travelling Eagles fans, the Selhurst boss was today keen to stress how well Everton had treated his squad.
He said: “I have to say Everton Football Club were absolutely fantastic.
“When the game was called off they fed the players, they found us a hotel to stay in, they got us training facilities the next day and they paid for everything.
“They actually paid for everything.
“I just hope the chairman has already paid back what we owe them because they were absolutely fantastic.
“As a football club they deserve a lot of credit for the way they looked after us.”
