A third win in four games means Watford are now nine points from the last play-off spot with a game in hand but when asked if the Hornets could still make it into the top six on Saturday, Beppe Sannino let out a shriek of displeasure.

The flamboyant Italian has always refused to talk about the Championship table, insisting his focus is only on the next game and not on his team's points tally.

In his post-match press conference, Sannino was asked if Watford were gathering momentum for a potential play-off push.

He threw his hands in the air and let out a high-pitched screech before saying: "I am not watching the table, I am watching only what we did today.

"We moved up the table and this victory allows us to go to Yeovil in good spirits but it’s another game.

"I would like to enjoy this three points and from tomorrow we start to think about the next match."
