Pat Molloy died at the age of 83.

Prior to joining Watford, he had run away from home to join the King's Royal Rifles, became a fairground boxer, joined Bomber Command during World War Two, qualified as a carpenter whilst playing wing-half for a string of clubs, and managed the Turkish national side.

He had subsequently spent 41 years as a much valued member of the training staff at Vicarage Road.

A great character and loyal servant to WFC, Pat was a REAL Man , I would imagine in his playing days he was a tough opponent, that jutting jaw and crew cut hair style seen many a season running on the pitch with the 'magic sponge' wonder what he would think of todays game ?
