WANDERERS boss Gareth Ainsworth has called for one of his strikers to step forward and say he wants to be team's main finisher.

Blues have found goals hard to come by in recent weeks, firing blanks in six of their last eight matches and failing to score at home in five games.

Dean Morgan and Matt McClure are joint top scorers with six apiece, while the rest of the goals have been shared around the team.

Now Ainsworth has called for one of them to step forward and say he wants the responsibility of being the out-and-out finisher Wanderers so desperately need to steer themselves to safety.

He said: "Goalscorers are hard to come by and that's why they get paid the most money in this league. I believe we've got some good goalscorers - we seem to have spread the goals out this year rather than one person getting them all.

"Maybe we've got to have one person absolutely on fire. They have all shared them out - we need someone to go, 'Right, I'll take it on, I'll be the goalscorer'."

Blues only managed one on target shot against Accrington Stanley on Saturday and Ainsworth said: "It didn't come today for the forwards but it will do and when it does come they have got to be ready to take their chances.

"We need them to step up and start scoring goals. They know they can score goals - now it's a case of get your shooting boots on and let's finish the season with a flurry of goals."
