KORTNEY Hause has been tipped to play in the Premier League one day after completing a deadline day move to Wolves.

The giant 18-year-old defender signed a two and a half year deal with the Molineux side after passing a medical on the final day of the January transfer window on Friday.

Hause moves to the League One high fliers for an undisclosed fee, with Wanderers saying the deal includes add-ons and a sell on clause.

Blues boss Gareth Ainsworth said the central defender has all the attributes needed to succeed at the top level - and revealed the youngster personally thanked him for putting him on the right track.

He said: "Kortney Hause can play in the Premier League with the right next step, which hopefully he'll get at Wolves. He's a cracking player and everyone who's seen him in a Wycombe shirt will realise just how far he can go.

"His temperament is something that will help him along the way just as much as ability. He doesn't get high, he doesn't get low, he's quite steady. At the moment he's like a sponge and learning so much about his trade.

"We are proud to play a part in his development. He sent myself and Dobbo [assistant manager Richard Dobson] two lovely text messages at about one o'clock in the morning after his move - he must have been absolutely buzzing. We were fast asleep and didn't get them until the morning.

"When you see something like that from someone just starting out and potentially going to the top and sending text messages saying thanks for everything you've done, I'll never forget things like that. It just touches you and made me so proud of what we've done with Kortney. He deserves it, he's a great lad."

Hause reiterated his thanks to Wanderers for the part they played in his development in an interview with the Wolves official club website.

He made 31 first team appearances for the club, which Ainsworth said would "put him in fantastic stead for the future".

And Hause said: "They are the club that gave me my opportunity to play first team football. I'm always going to be grateful for that, but it's time to move on now and hopefully I can be successful at this club.

"All the staff and fans and everyone at the club were very supportive. They stick by you whatever happens.

"Things went really well at Wycombe. I'm grateful for it and I thank Wycombe for that."
