The Hornets will not be targeting any more signings when the loan window re-opens later this week, the Watford Observer has been told.

Watford signed three players in the final few days of the January transfer window, with holding midfielders Daniel Tozser and Samba Diakite, plus striker Park Chu-Young, all arriving on loan.

The Golden Boys had been close to making other signings, such as Fulham's George Boateng and Livorno forward Luca Siligardi, prior to the window closing and other players arriving.

But we have this week been told the Hornets will not be making any further additions, injury permitting, when the loan window re-opens after filling the problem position of holding midfield and signing a pacey striker.

On his club's business during the transfer window, head coach Beppe Sannino said: "I was happy with the players I had at the club anyway but the club knew about some positions we needed cover and reacted so I am pleased."

From what I have seen of him on tv with Arsenal, yes, quite quick, but more of a winger really I thought. I may be wrong.

That's a bit negative isn't it? If we win our two games in hand, at home to B'ham and away to Yeovil - both very do-able, we'll only be 7 points off the play-offs with 17 games to go! If we give up now, we needn't have started in my opinion.

Do not think the season is dead just yet.

We now have a really good large squad, and after a promising win against Brighton, there is still hope?

Get a draw at Leicester, then we have a nice run of fixtures. Provided we can maximise our ability to the full, I can see a good sequence of results, and maybe, just maybe, a late charge for the play offs?

Of course we can make the play offs!
We should all know what this league is about by now.
Get on a good run, especially at the end of the season and you will fly up the table.
So the only question that remains is, have we got the squad that are good enough to go on a good run?
I think we have, but a lot depends on the new signings doing the business, and early signs are enough to get me believing.
Plenty of games to go if we start winning.

yes it is mathematically possible - Bolton had the same amount of points as we do after 27 games last season i think and missed the playoffs on goal difference. But realistically its hard to see a team that's won 2 in 15 going on that sort of run. We just aren't good enough to do that basically, everyone always counts games in hand as 3 points in the bag, but we have to actually win them first

I agree we can still make the play offs, even if we get nothing out of the this weekend which is a really tough game for us.Let us not forget we have a very good squad of talented footballers, one of the best squads for a very long time, the question is can the manager turn them into a consistenly successful team. I think he can, and if we do make the play off we will be on a great streak of form!

Play offs is still possible but we need to win the next five games on the bounce first and see what happens with the teams who are up there!
Just getting a good run going will be great for us and finishing day 8th would be a result considering what had gone on this season!
We can then take stock of what went wrong and hopefully the Pozzo's could inject some cash to buy a couple of experienced quality players from championship experience and hopefully pull out all the stops to get Vydra and Challoboah back too!
That with a fully fit Hoban and Hall we can look at giving next season a real good go!
It's not over yet but we are only a short way from achieving our goal!

we need to show consistency that we have not shown all season. The squad needs to settle down, too many ins and outs have disrupted the season, along with Abdi's injury. Regardless of where we finish this season, I think it is best if we make minimal changes in the summer, maybe get Vydra back and have a more settled approach than this season. As for Park, his career has gone downhill since is move to Arsenal, will need to show a dramatic improvement on his form for Arsenal and Celta Vigo. Maybe we need to convince him that Watford is like South Korea, then he will score a hatful.

Also watched the Udinese game last night. At 36 Di Natalie still looks a mean footballer. I agree get him to come to Watford, for his Pozzo swansong. He would do our team a power of good. Udinese beat Florentina 2-1 first leg Italia cup. Di Natalie scored the first. 2nd leg will be shown on Sky 1 live next Tuesday. Give it a watch

From the little I've seen of Toszer he looks like a potentially great signing.

Can't comment about Park Chu Young but have heard he is pacy/pacey albeit played on the wing previously?

Diakite was only on for a few minutes and looked all over the place but I'll write that off to lack of match fitness.

The other two we signed in the window (Merkel and Bellerin) are both players who look very good, they will make a difference for sure.

Leicester is a very tough game, would love to come away with a draw but on their current form and the fact they have TWO strikers who always seem to score against us in Nugent and Phillips it's unlikely but you never know, we looked like a TEAM on Sunday and stopped a very good team from playing or scoring but even if we lose this is not the defining game, the onese coming up after Saturday are.

On that front a humble request to all supporters to please make the effort to go to the game. I know it's a bit pricey and the stadium is a soulless sterile bowl but it's not a long journey and their fans are spewing all over social media about how they're gonna stuff us (which they might well do) but how can we expect the players to believe if we don't?
