Watford have completed the loan signing of Samba Diakite from Queens Park Rangers.

Negotiations have progressed quickly today and his loan until the end of the season has been confirmed by both clubs.

Diakite’s move to the Golden Boys  stalled after QPR asked for a large proportion of the player’s wages and it appeared interest may have ended when Genoa’s Daniel Tozser arrived on loan earlier this week.

However, talks between Diakite's representatives and Watford continued and with Iriney joining Mallorca today, the Golden Boys were keen to secure the services of the R's midfielder.

The player is available for Sunday's game with Brighton & Hove Albion but he will not be allowed to face his parent club in April.

Diakite initially joined Rangers on loan from Nancy in January 2012 before the move was made permanent in the summer, when he signed a four-year deal.

The player made ten appearances last season before Mark Hughes was replaced by Harry Redknapp.

He made a further five outings for QPR before heading to the African Cup of Nations where he was injured in Mali’s fourth game of the tournament.

Diakite only made one more appearance for QPR last season and has had just one Captial One Cup outing during this campaign, which means he has not featured in a league match for more than a year.

Still no forwards then! When is the Norweigian guy going to feature. Fabrinni and Faroni are probably just about worth playing in the Conference. Oh No! they will get clattered. So perhaps Sieria C then.

More loan players in and out. How are we supposed to achieve a settled and consistent side with such instability. None of the players must know where they are gonna be in 6 months time. Are they really ever going to have the passion and love for the club? And want to succeed for us? Dont know, i trust the pozzos and we all owe them a lot, but i have to say this is the first time i feel we are starting to lose our identity a bit and everyone is just using us as a stepping stone in their careers. We really have had some dross play for us this year, who couldnt care less what happened to the club, coz they know they werent in it for the long haul. Cue the backlash!!!! Love the orns.

Rangers fan here - you've got one hell of a player in Diakite. He's absolutely mental (just watch his tackling to see what I mean) and I'm not sure how well he knows the rules of football but he is impressive. If you can get someone to calm him down a bit then you have a terrific midfielder. Never got much of a chance under Harry. Pity.

At least even if the team is going to pot the Pozzos saved the club and are getting on with the ground development but as far as player acquistions are concerned a load of doodahs.

Agree, Faroani woeful at defending. Should have played Bellerin as he is a better defender and just as good if not better than Faroani going forward. Fabbrini is a waste of space, all his fancy touches achieve us nothing and each time he plays he seems to be further away from being a serious goal threat - he is getting worse not better. We always looked dangerous with Anya, FF & Deeney so why on earth did we try to sit back on our lead same as Man City - if we had kept pressing the full 90 minutes both matches may have had a different outcome. Managers come and go and yet none of them in recent years have been able to sort out a team that can defend so why not just keep attacking? Man City seem to be doing alright by going for all out attack - if you are scoring 4 goals every game you are going to be very unlucky to lose or even draw.

At the end of the season the Pozzos need to have a good think about Mr Nani,s position. Would like to see a British Director of football someone along the lines like GT or even Johnny Barnes !
actually thats not a bad call Johnny Barnes director of football !
what do you think ???

Crikey we.ve gone and done it and signed the nutter. Let's hope he lives up to the billing and stays on the pitch long enough to make a difference for the Horns. Old Harry must be laughing his socks off as he searches for another striker and there's us probably paying a big lump of this fella's wages. if we were watching QPR couldn't we have loaned Bobby Zamora and Andy ??? the ex Fulham Little and Large package up front aswell or are they both still injured??
Did we sign the 16 year old french striker we were looking at or has that one fallen by the wayside. I'd like to see the Pozzo's recall Vydra from his loan at West Brom and tell him he either plays up front for the Horns or spends time on our bench rather than keeping the West Brom bench warm. He could meet up with his old mate Daniel Pudil again and spend sometime with the fans who really appreciate his talents in Watford High Street. Fat chance of that happening but it would be nice.

This season we have played the then bottom of the table Yeovil at home, they scored 3 we scored nil, we played Sheffield Wednesday at home they were in the bottom three and scored 1 we scored nil, you correctly state that if you score 4 goals you will be unlucky to lose but you are missing the obvious point we are not scoring 4 goals. this my first post of the season, had to wait to see how things have panned out before commenting.people on here going on about loan players, seemed ok last season when we over achieved,we are short of a finisher thats all. remember when we were average and maybe an adam johnson would come along and get you on the edge of your seat, how many of you lean forward when fessi, fabbrini, anya, abdi and co get the ball and go past people,we are spoilt for choice now! its not and never was going to be esay as we are there to be shot down this time.we are in a very good position with what the owners are doing on and off and feel next season with things bedded in we will go close to promotion.loved zola, but we all loved barnes, cally, mclelan
d,big george riley, super kev, danny graham etc but they come and go but there is always the horns!! p.s. special mention to the rubbish refs we get, does the circus come to town every week now?

Can't comment on the new qpr chap But can say that I am currently underwhelmed by everything at Watford at the moment. Massively disappointed and think that Nani Nani absolutely has to have a fundamental rethink or we get someone in that knows British football.

At the end of the season the Pozzos need to have a good think about Mr Nani,s position. Would like to see a British Director of football someone along the lines like GT or even Johnny Barnes !
actually thats not a bad call Johnny Barnes director of football !
what do you think ???
I thought your point about Nani was reasonable unti you spoilt it with the daft suggestion about Barnes etc.

Ok, Cornetto.

So first you were unhappy with Zola, now already you are unhappy with Sannino, after a matter of weeks.

I agree - had enough of these loan players - ok if they stay for a season, but a few weeks here and there is silly, and makes a mockery of the league
Chelsea et al, have already made a mockery of English football, they have over 20 players out on loan at the moment including some of the best English players of their age group. All clubs in the Championship use the loan system as it suits them, we cannot do any differently or we fall further behind. Even the recent days of bringing through large numbers of our own youth are disappearing fast as they are no longer good enough to compete with the ready made foreign players that are already here. Our identity is changing along with all the others I am afraid, up until the point that we become an official feeder club for Chelsea/Tottenham/Ar
senal I will continue to support us as I have done for the last 40 years.

Last night was a capitulation big time, but (discounting Man City) Bournemouth in the previous away game was the exact opposite, they showed a lot of character to get a point in that game. Confidence is low though and that is showing through when we let a goal in. Maybe Sannino will prove not to be the man for us, but early days still and Sunday's game will be a good test of his management skills. Aims for the rest of the season have to be a) to stay up and b) to start gelling the team together and working out how is good enough and stays and who will be leaving so that we don't have wholesale team rebuilding to do for the 3rd season running.

Don't despair yet HC, Merkel and Toszer are class players if they can adapt to Championship and Hoban's return could spark our form again, like last year when he got into the side. At least we have expectations these days, just hurts more when you perform badly I guess, knowing that we should be doing so much better.

We don't have a manager, we have a coach and he has to use what is given to him by Nani
Nani and Duxbury are obviously the problem and can any Watford fan be proud of having these somewhat shadowy characters at Vicarage Road? Their experience in football only seems to concern players that belong to someone else. Unfortunately it's not possible any more to sign Argentinians that belong to third parties. That being the case just why do we need this pair of wheeler dealers?

Elton, Cornet is hardly being fickle. He is being quite consequent in his opinions and doesn't think Watford are picking their coaches well. I think I tend to agree with him. I'm prepared to give the new guy a chance but why do we have to experiment with coaches.
It's too late now but we should have kept Dyche. The next time we change the coach please get someone in who knows and understands the Championship.

Yes Essex, Zamorra and Andy ??? are always injured, they are also on 70k per week at Qtr Pd Rubbish. Agree with Vydra point though.
