Billy Davies believes Nottingham Forest should have at least gone into half time level with Watford and described the 4-2 win as a great three points.

The Hornets led 1-0 at half time during last night’s match and extended their advantage further soon after the restart through another Gabriele Angella goal.

However, Forest went on to score four unanswered goals to continue their automatic promotion charge.

Davies said: “I thought in the first 45 minutes that from the middle to front our energy was not good enough.

“We created some good chances and probably should have scored a goal or two from set pieces.

“We defended very poorly and it was a big lesson for one of our young players, Jamaal Lascelles, about keeping your feet on the ground and not believing what you read [in the newspapers] and just concentrating on working on your game because it was a big lesson for him with the two set pieces where we lost goals.

“But overall we were much better second half, had much better energy and it was a great three points.”
