Watford entertained reigning European champions Manchester United on a frozen pitch at Vicarage Road in an already postponed FA Cup fourth round replay.
United won the game 2-0 after George Best created the opener for Denis Law in the first half and the Scot added a second on the break with three minutes remaining.
The game was witnessed by what remains Watford's record crowd of 34,099 crammed into Vicarage Road; a crush barrier's collapse led to the hospitalisation of several supporters.
