Leicester Fosse became the first top-flight side to visit Watford for a competitive game; a Fred Cleaver goal gave Watford a 1-1 draw in the first round of the FA Cup at Cassio Road.
The visitors, destined to finish some way adrift at the foot of the first division table, won the replay 3-1 at Filbert Street the following Wednesday.
