Osasuna confirm Watford striker Javier Acuna has agreed to join the club on loan

Osasuna have confirmed they have reached an agreement over the loan signing of Javier Acuna.

Acuna joined the Hornets from Udinese in a permanent deal in the summer, signing a contract which expires in 2016.

An error on Osasuna's website claims an agreement was reached with Udinese - not Watford - over Acuna's loan move.

The 25-year-old has only made six starts and six substitute appearances in all competitions for Watford, scoring one goal.

Osasuna are managed by Acuna's old Cadiz boss Javi Gracia and the Hornets hope the former Real Madrid B striker will be able to find some form before returning to the club in the summer.

Osasuna's website suggested the player will have his medical this afternoon before official confirmation of the move later today.

Well he certainly wasn't performing for us so he certainly needs something to help him find his shooting boots. Hopefully this will do the trick.

He was never given a chance and was always overlooked in favour of Foresteri and Fabbrini, who are more pleasing on the eye but with little end product.
I am sure Acuna will score goals while out on loan, and as he is still "our" player, we could see him back scoring for us yet?

It's a shame but I doubt we will see him again to be honest. Not every player can adjust to life in a different country but that said he was never really given a fair crack on matchdays.

If he plays regularly for Osasuna he may come back to Vicarage Road next season a more confident and better player. I wish him well.

Did nowt for us (one good goal aside). Some say he was not given a fair chance but was no where near enough to being a threat as a forward in my eyes. Britt has gone, alas, but was a far better prospect than this guy.

Never looked like a striker at the Vic...Always played far too deep and never seemed to look like is wanted to get in the box. Some players don't suit Championship football and he is one of them

He never looked truly fit to me. Didnt he have three consectutive seasons with some kind of knee injury? If he was signed for pace, well I'm afraid someone made a clanger there.
