If Diego Fabbrini passes to his team-mates more after beating an opposition player then he could become very dangerous in the future. That was the observation made by Watford's head coach Beppe Sannino after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bristol City.
Fabbrini has had a mixed time since joining the Golden Boys. Flashes of brilliance and game-changing displays have been interspersed with ineffective showings from the one-time Italy international.
Saturday's FA Cup third round tie at Ashton Gate was one of Fabbrini's best performances in recent months.
Sannino was impressed with the 23-year-old's display but also recognised an aspect of the forward's game where he needs to improve.
On Saturday evening, the head coach said: "For me Fabbrini was extraordinary today. If he can understand that when he cuts off a man, he has to play with his team-mates then he could become very dangerous in the future."
Centre midfielder Lewis McGugan was the stand-out player in the first half at the weekend but his performance level decreased considerably after the restart.
Head of medical Marco Cesarini, who was acting as Sannino's translator, revealed after the match that the midfielder had been ill during half-time.
"He had a little problem at half time, so I was very happy with him," Sannino replied when asked about McGugan's display.
