Fitz Hall joins Watford for a third time after agreeing new one-month deal

Watford have re-signed Fitz Hall for a third time after agreeing another one-month contract.

Hall has been training with the Hornets since the summer when his initial one-year deal expired.

The 33-year-old agreed a one-month contract with Watford in November after a string of injuries.

Last week head coach Beppe Sannino described Hall as "one of the key players" at the Golden Boys and said he would give the defender a chance to earn another contract after recent illness.

And this evening the Hornets confirmed another one-month deal had been signed.

Speaking last week, Sannino said: "Fitz Hall is a very important player, one of the key players at Watford in terms of personality, experience and presence.

"After I joined the club he was not training because he had a chest infection so I haven’t seen him on the pitch.

"Today (Thursday) he was training so he is getting better. As I have said before, after the Bristol City game Fitz will be one of the players we will assess."

The centre-back excelled in his 22 outings for Watford last season but after the player initially delayed contract talks, the club’s hierarchy decided to opt for other options in the summer.

Hall made one start and one substitute appearance after former Hornets boss Gianfranco Zola decided to re-sign the player in November.

Good news. We need strength in depth and he is a fantastic championship defender. Experienced heads are viral, particularly as we have quite a young squad. Great example for the younger kids. COYH

If Angella gets injured as the middle centre back of the three, Hall is an ideal replacement, wouldnt play both Angella and Hall together though as they are rather slow.

A quality player, so I am disappointed he hasn't been signed for the rest of the season. I hope that he at least gets an opportunity to show Sannino that he is worth more than that.

Thought you'd said ANAL presence!
When I found my glasses I realised it was (or should have been) aerial presence!

Sign him up for the rest of the season - tall commanding defender, man of the match in my opinion in his only start(can't remember opponents) but Zola took him off early in 2nd half. If he wasn't injured Zola should have put him up front with Deeney.

I see Hollowhead's the new Millwall manager...........

More to do with his age. Fitz needs a club and I guess playing in Jan gives him hope of work, if not a move. There are still a lot of footballers out of work.

Not a pop but if you are over 32 no one is getting a contract longer than 12 months at this cub?

Yes, get him in but only for a month at a time. With his fitness record he's liable to go off his legs at any time and we don't want to waste money on wages for players that probably wont see-out many games. Like him a lot just far too fragile - shame.

Agree, doesn't seem good enough for the Championship. Might have been signed to ensure we had enough British players in thematchday squad, esp with injuries to Hoban, Nosworthy and Hall, Eustace and Hogg having left. I would expect Brown to go out on loan to a Div 1 or 3 club.
