Beppe Sannino says he was proud to hand first-year scholar Harry Kyprianou a place on Watford's substitute bench at Bristol City.
Hector Bellerin's ineligibility and injuries to Ikechi Anya and Daniel Pudil meant Kyprianou and fellow first-year scholar Tom Rosenthal were included in the Hornets' travelling party for the FA Cup tie at Ashton Gate.
Rosenthal didn't join Kyprianou on the substitutes bench in the final match-day 18 but there were six academy products in the squad - and ten home-grown players in total.
When asked about Kyprianou's inclusion, Sannino said: "I like it so much when young players have these opportunities to join the first team and have the experience of being involved in the FA Cup. I am proud of that."
