Watford boss Beppe Sannino: I'd like to enjoy this moment but I also need to forget it with QPR waiting
Watford head coach Beppe Sannino stressed the importance of “playing with your head” in games like today’s against Millwall.
The Lions went down to ten men after just nine minutes and whilst the Hornets went on to secure an emphatic 4-0 win, he recognised the potential pitfalls had his team not remained patient.
The Hornets ended their ten-match winless run and won at home for the first time in six matches during Sannino’s home debut.
But the 56-year-old stated his team need to forget today’s result quickly, with high-flying Queens Park Rangers visiting Vicarage Road in three days time.
With head of medical Marco Cesarini translating, Sannino said: “I want to get the type of team that always do their best on the pitch. As I said before, we had the chance to play 11 versus ten today and in this type of game, if you do not play with your head then you can have trouble.
“My players were fantastic because they were waiting for the right moment to go deep and score.
“I would like to enjoy this moment but I also need to forget this win because in three days we have to play again.”
He added: “It was a win against ten men but we have to be happy for our supporters and for the three points because they [three points] have been missing for a long time.
“I am very happy for the players, the supporters and a toast needs to go to Gianfranco Zola as well.
“We wait for the next game now where for sure it will be a tougher game.”
