Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade insists their win at Gillingham earlier this season will count for nothing when the League 1 leaders face them again on Boxing Day.

The O's eased to a 3-1 over them back in September in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy but their opponents have improved recently under new boss Peter Taylor.

Slade said: "It's a new manager with a different philosophy which will cause us a different problem and different challenge. You're not just going to walk out and win a football match in League 1, it just doesn't happen that way.

"They seem to have picked up under Peter Taylor so there is no easy ride. I said to them today they've no right to win a football match. You have to work exceptionally hard and fight for your lives and your team to get anything in any game in League 1."

Orient will be looking to respond following their surprise 3-2 home defeat to Crawley Town on Saturday which extended their winless run to four league games.

But Slade's side are boosted by the return of Elliot Omozusi from suspension and also hope to have Dean Cox back after illness. Striker David Mooney, who has a foot injury, serves the final game of his three-match ban while midfielder Lloyd James is also out after picking up five bookings.
