Giuseppe Sannino says the first thing he did when addressing Watford’s players was apologise for being unable to speak English.
Sannino spoke to the media as Hornets boss for the first time after the 1-1 draw away to Ipswich Town on Saturday.
With the Golden Boys’ head of medical, Marco Cesarini, translating, Sannino said: “My first speech to the lads was to apologise to them because I do not speak English. I plan to speak English as soon as possible. That is one of my big regrets.
“But the decision [to join Watford] was [made] very quickly so I didn’t have time to prepare like Carlo Ancelotti or Roberto Mancini; they had time to prepare so I am really sorry for that.”
