Watford are currently drawing 0-0 with Ipswich Town in Giuseppe Sannino’s first game in charge of the club.

The Hornets started in a 3-5-2 formation with Manuel Almunia and Diego Fabbrini returning to the line-up – the latter’s first start for more than two months.

It was Fabbrini who had the first real chance of the game midway through the half as he struck the post from a tight angle.

Sannino was keen for his team to press the opposition and it appeared to work reasonably well.

The home team arguably edged a tight opening 45 minutes, with David McGoldrick and Frank Nouble forcing Almunia into decent saves.

Ipswich line-up: Gerken, Chambers, Smith, Berra, Cresswell, Hyam, Skuse, Tunnicliffe, Nouble, McGoldrick, Murphy.

Watford line-up: Almunia; Doyley, Angella, Ekstrand; Cassetti, Murray, Thorne, McGugan, Pudil; Fabbrini, Deeney.
