Yeovil Town boss Gary Johnson was delighted with his team's 3-0 victory on Saturday, insisting Watford are a "great football team" but "if you keep in the game against them you always get opportunities".

Yeovil picked up just their third league win of the season at Vicarage Road to condemn Gianfranco Zola's men to their fourth consecutive loss at home.

Talking about Watford after the match, Johnson said: "I think they're a great football team. When you come to Watford you know they’ll be able to drift by you sometimes, they’re going to play little one-twos, they're going to have chances.

"You’ve got to be up for it and unless you're throwing yourselves in front of shots, throwing yourself to make sure you get on to headers - if you don’t do that they score.

"But if you do do that, you keep in the game and if you keep in the game against them you always get those opportunities.

"The stats show that they're the highest scorers but haven’t they let in quite a few as well? So in both penalty areas you have to be very, very strong."

Johnson became an apprentice at Watford as a teenager and later returned as director of the club's youth academy under Graham Taylor.

The Glovers manager however insists he took no added satisfaction from beating the club he first started at as a boy.

"I didn’t come here and want to win any more just because it was Watford - the emotional attachment was 11 years ago now and 20 odd years before that. I always watch Watford’s results so I still have a soft spot for them," he said.

"I know teams come here sometimes and let them play a bit and sit back and I think we tried to get at them a little bit hence the three goals where we made the holes we could get into.

"That’s what we've been working on so I'm very pleased with our tactic and how the boys took to it."

A massive win for his team, but against (is this correct) a team who could not score in a brothel!
