Watford’s head coach has said the job he is doing at Vicarage Road should not be compared to that of the man he replaced – Sean Dyche – ahead of their visit to Burnley this evening.

Dyche spent one season in charge of the Hornets and led the team to an 11th-place finish despite several off-the-field problems.

He was replaced by Zola following the Pozzo’s takeover and was subsequently appointed Burnley manager in October 2012.

The Clarets are currently second in the Championship despite their small budget and, with Watford tenth, Zola was asked whether he will be under extra pressure when the Hornets visit Turf Moor.

“No, I don’t feel the pressure,” Zola said prior to Saturday's defeat to Yeovil Town.

“I am very pleased for Sean because he is doing a good job but I don’t compare myself to him. I try to do a job for the club and do as best I can, I am not looking at what Sean is doing.”

He added: “I do not look for the comparison, it doesn’t interest me.

“I want to be judged on the job I do at this club and not to be compared to someone who is doing a job somewhere else.

“I didn’t want this comparison last year when things were going well for us and for me.”
