South-West Corner timetable to be agreed in two weeks
A timetable for construction work on the South-West Corner at Vicarage Road should be agreed at a meeting on November 5.
Catering company Lindley is project manager for the development and will meet with Watford in two weeks to discuss the plans.
The Hornets forged an £18m deal with Lindley Venue Catering in the summer, which extended the previous five-year partnership agreement until the 2023/24 season.
The development of the South-West Corner will cost more than £1m and will see Lindley responsible for overseeing the design and installation of new kitchens and two floors of hospitality facilities. An authentic Italian-inspired restaurant and large sports bar are likely to be key features.
On non-match days, the hospitality suite can be converted into an exhibition, conference space or provide 150-cover dining area for formal banquets, weddings and balls. The club have previously stated it will also host club awards nights.
Watford agreed a budget and discussed ideas with Lindley in the summer and the catering company have been creating designs for the development.
The Hornets are also planning to redevelop the V Bar in the near future.
Watford have said a clock and scoreboard will be added to the TV screen at the ground for the club’s next home game, which is against Leicester City on November 2.
The electronic scoreboard and clock which was on the East Stand side of the ground was given back to season-ticket holder Michael Schogger, who donated it to the club in around 2008.
The Hornets no longer had use for it due to the demolition work on the East Stand so Schogger has donated it to non-league side Wealdstone, who will officially unveil their scoreboard before tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) game to Grays Athletic. The Stones allow Watford fans into games for £5 on production of their season ticket.
