East London Boxing Academy held their first show on Friday night, with a total of 13 bouts taking place.
Ten fighters were in action from the academy with more than 200 people in attendance and boxing clubs coming from as far as Cambridge.
With more experienced fighters Roman Haidari injured and Ash Khan preparing for the Senior Championships, Patrick Maughan and Habib Akram stepped up to to the plate and both won their bouts convincingly.
Leyton and Wanstead MP John Cryer handed out the awards along with London Amateur Boxing Association representative Ron Phillpson.
Khan made up for not boxing at the home show by putting on one of his best performances to date in the senior boxing championships held at Harold Hill.
In the final, Khan was competing against the more experienced Zaman from the Fairban Boxing Club but using his superior hand and foot speed, Khan forced an eight count at the end of the first round.
This trend contained as Khan eased to a unanimous victory and is now through to the London finals to be hosted in South London next week where he could be fighting men up to 15 years
