Leyton Orient striker David Mooney nominated for League One player of the month
Leyton Orient striker David Mooney has been nominated for the September player of the month after continuing his prolific scoring form.
The O's striker is the joint top scorer in the country after netting nine goals in as many league games. Orient boss Russell Slade insists Mooney deserves recognition for the work he has put into improving.
Slade, who failed to receive a nomination after his August victory despite dropping just two points in September, said: "David has been excellent this season and not just with his finishing. He has been a team player as well and deserves his nomination.
"He's been in a really good vein of form and will want to keep that going. He has worked really hard on his game to get to this level and will want to maintain that."
