CRYSTAL Palace will be boosted by the return of Jonathan Williams from injury for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn.

The Eagles head to Ewood Park in search of their first win since early March, an alarming slump which has placed big a question mark over whether they will make the play-offs.

Young starlet Williams was forced off at half-time with a knee injury in the recent 3-0 defeat at Ipswich and had to sit out last weekend’s 2-2 draw against play-off rivals Leicester.

But manager Ian Holloway this afternoon confirmed the Welsh international will be back in the squad for the Blackburn game.

“Yes he will be,” the Eagles boss confirmed.

“He trained really well today, he looked very bright.

“His knee was fine and there are no other problems, so I’ve got almost a fully fit squad to pick from.”

The Leicester draw at least ended Palace’s long search for a goal, which had stretched back to early March.

It could have been all three points against the Foxes had Damien Delaney’s mistake not gifted Chris Wood Leicester’s second equaliser, something Holloway is determined to cut out in the final three games of the season.

“I think it’s been a shock to everybody at how things have not been going for us,” the manager said.

“Last weekend we realised we made another error which got them in it against a half decent side.

“We know what we need to achieve now and our focus has been on doing that.

“The lads today were terrific, I’ve simplified their jobs to let them know exactly what we want now and we need to go out there and do it.

“I’ve got a fantastic feeling with this group, I think they really want it.

“Maybe they want it too bad, but the focus is there and we’ve got to go out there and do it for our fans.

“Is there a better time to win than right now when we have to?

“Second place has gone, it’s just about getting into the play-offs and doing the best we can for this group of supporters because they’re fantastic.”

Holloway added: “I summed it up last game when I said something about a free-kick and I was completely amazed at what the players said, so it has given me an opportunity to reinforce good things rather than the bad things that some people do wrong.

“Hopefully I can realign certain thought processes, because that’s all they are really.

“I’m still new with this group, so they don’t know me.

“All I can say is that we are reinforcing what we’ve done brilliant this year.”

Holloway also accepted he was prepared to win by any means necessary between now and the end of the season in order to get the points required to guarantee a play-off spot.

He added: “I think that it’s just about getting a result, I don’t care if it’s 1-0.

“It’s about getting us over that line and we can go a long way to doing that against Blackburn.

“We’ve just now got to refocus and I think the group has, so I fully expect us to get what we need.

"Let's just get right back to it and get at this game like it's the last game of our lives and let's see if Blackburn can cope with what we're going to do."
