Former Sporting Kansas City player Neven Markovic pictured wearing Watford training kit

Serbian defender Neven Markovic has led to speculation about his future after tweeting a picture of himself wearing a Watford training kit, along with the words: “Fantastic day with new teammates”.
The Watford Observer has spoken to Hornets officials tonight but it is not yet clear whether the player is visiting, on trial, or indeed if the club would be allowed to sign him if they wished to under the terms of the transfer embargo imposed following a Football Disciplinary Commission’s ruling on Monday which saw former owner Laurence Bassini banned from any involvement in football for three years.
Markovic is a free agent, having left Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City in November after making just two appearances.
He started his career at FK Rad Belgrade but sources suggest he has only made a handful of appearances at each club he has been at since.

BUT, he seems a bit of a "has been" or perhaps a "never was" if he can't hold down a job anywhere - and to have been banished to a football backwater such as the States is also a bit disconcerting. Still, far be it from me to pre-judge....

So the Wobby has to resort to twitter rumours for Watford FC news.
Could do with some decent interviews in these exciting times and not just regurgitation of what comes off the official Watford FC website.
I think Frank in particular has got in where he can.

Plus, he isn't reporting on a rumour, is he. I haven't gone on Twitter and said, "Watford are possibly signing so and so," this has come directly from the player himself.
Journalists have a decision to make whether things like this are in the public's interest - and on this occasion, it is.

Sorry, being a bit too positive for you LD? ;-).
Just to redress the balance, his career stats of 42 club games by the age of 26 looks pretty poor !

Don't see why they can't sign him regardless of the so called "transfer embargo" which, of course, isn't an embargo at all. Would you care to think why Abdi's family fled from Kosovo like millions of others at a very young age?
Perhaps remembering the dozens of accounts of mass genocide all over the former Yugoslavia committed by Serbian officials.
But yes, you're right, a pathetic heave ho between two leaders is exactly the same.

You really are a tool
I hope everything Bas says is true, and his connections with Philip Green and the orthopaedic surgeon Pantyhose is for real, and we have a shiny new sand with hotels, hospitals, conference centres ( te new empire state is coming east side soon). But all I see at the moment is the same I've seen for a couple of years now, nothing new or tangible.
I really can't see why any business man would turn down ten million for a minority stake, strange if true.
One thing I do agree with is that Sean Dyche has done a great job, but at the same time know if he pushes us to the play offs or there abouts, Sean will be snapped up by a bigger club.
But as with Dyche if proved wrong I will eat my many regurgitatable hats and say I was wrong.
