AUDIO: Zola insists Watford will come good (From This Is Local London)

Well, it looks as though the damage of Saturday's debacle has been almost totally eliminated. We won't continue to be so lucky if we don't start winning again.

Bad time to have a dip in form. I was not there on Saturday but I wonder how much diferent it may have been over the last 2 games losing Abdi and Hogg is not up to it? Hope Abdi is back for Good Friday but then we have guys away on international duty so they do not get a rest and not there on the training pitch to refocus.

This is going to be a looooong two weeks. I can see a lot of negative comments racking up on here! I'm sure Zola knows what the team have to do in the next game already... A lot better than we do. Let's leave Zola to the football side of things and use this time to reflect as fans on how we can come together for once rather than arguing at football matches.... Time and time again I go to a match and hear our own fans arguing in the stands....what's the point. If you go regularly or not you will all know how expensive it is to follow a football team and we do so because we all have one thing in common...watford f.c. I urge you all to think before we argue about who's not a great player and who Zola should have picked to play and concentrate on urging the squad to play their best. I can't stand it when people start trying to ring the changes by singing someone on the benches name. Zola will bring them on when he's ready to, not when the fans have had enough of supporting their team through the bad spells. We are so lucky we are 3rd in the championship and lucky to have some stability at our great club. To think people are moaning when we lose just two games in a row for the first time since October is shameful. I'm sure none of this will make sense as I've just realised I'm rambling but its not the team that frustrates me its the attitude people take after we lose. The real winners are the ones that stay by their club no matter what!

A lot of the changes in recent weeks have been forced on Zola and much of the creative works has disapeared largely due to players drop in performance. The link up play between Vidra and Deeney which was devastating has completely gone and the through balls that cut defences apart earlier in the season are not being played.
I think that we underestimate the value of a fit Pudil.
At our best Casseti and him were surging down either wing at pace and Abdi was playing in the two forwards with regularity.
Yesterdays game was always going to be a scrap so I can understand why Zola picked Hogg and Yates but unfortunately neither played thier own game particularly well.
With a fully fit side, a decent pitch and a reasonable ref we can beat any team in this league home or away, but its ridiculous to think that its going to happen every week.

Yes and the next matches are Wat v Burnley (with Abdi fit a Wat win), Palace v B'ham (draw) and re-charged Hudd v Hull (Hudd win) and there we'll be in 2nd place again. Lets hope they all come back refreshed after the international break.
I think we would have all settled for third place in March at the beginning of the season. Lets all cheer them over the line in the final push and hope it's good enough.

Pointless hypothesising future results. Why would we beat Burnley but CP draw with Bham (a home banker if ever I saw one) and Hull lose to Huddersfield ??

Not too much relative points damage done due to CP & H losing but they have both used up perhaps their most difficult remaining game. This was the game GZ had said needed to give 3 vital points given our more difficult run in is yet to come.

Well, you say that but now it's GOT to happen every week or else it aint going to happen at all this season.

The Championship table is always condensed but this year looks extreme. Two sides currently in the drop zone have 42 points. With 8 games left it could be that 54 points will be a relegation total.

This in turn surely affects the totals required for automatic promotion ( I think Cardiff are now sure). I would not be surprised if 82 points is enough for second.

I find it amazing that the same players seem to be targeted yet again,One is Yeates and the other is Hog..No one mentions that Vydra has done nothing for the last month,but is excused because he has scored 20 goals previously.Yeates was the only one at Barnsley trying to get things going,how 2 players out of 11 are criticized is beyond me.Half of the thick idiots making comments on here prob didn't go.The side looks shattered,most of them had not even played a game before coming here,and it's catching up on them.They need this break,anyone can see they Knackered,anyone with a brain cell can see that.Where we are in the league is a huge bonus,as we were not suppose to be anywhere near this yet,then we lose 2 and the morons return and ctitizise 2 players one who has been a bit part player.

I think it's plain to see that without Abdi and perhaps Chalobah not totally fit we have an ordinary centre midfield area.
If GZ can or wants to bring someone in to improve it or freshen things up, then it could be just what we need to get back to winning ways and possibly 2nd.
IMO without this we will end up in the play-offs.

Apart from getting AA fit this international break could be bad news again. LD & NN thousand of miles away Chalobah and Vydra away as well doesn't fill me with much confidence as Sean Dyche will not want to give us any favours!

Of course...people have the right to make negative comments but to argue at the football is just stupid. Yesterday a kind chap gave me a free ticket seconds before I was about to pay to go in. Splitting the cost of the 1 ticket my friend paid for made yesterday a little easier to swallow...but hearing fans argue over petty things in the stands does the complete opposite. On that note...if your on here mysterious ticket giver....I owe you (or your friend who couldn't come) a pint. Thanks again :-)

Talking about tickets.... I was half way to Barnsley on the train when I realised I had left my ticket at home. (Bought at the Blackpool game). What to do? Pull the communication cord? No, better not. So I asked the steward if the players' coach had arrived yet. He said no, but he would kindly escort me to the coach when it arrived. (I told him that one of the players had a ticket for me). Well, the first player off the coach very kindly gave me a ticket when I told him of my predicament. I won't name him out of respect, but thanks again mate, I owe you one when I catch up with you in the Legends Lounge.

First time poster on here,not great on computers,but here goes! to me its an 8 game shoot out now from 2nd place to 7th for the 2nd automatic spot,think cardiff are too far away to catch.was at barnsley saturday,went with a couple of lads who have been to many aways this season,sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say we weren't good enough on the day,barnsley were at us from start to finish,they looked like they had 15 players on the pitch! we just never really settled on the ball and the pitch seemed dry and didnt help our passing.the next 8 games are going to be a rollercoaster of a ride but am so glad we are going to be on it,as on other posters who have said the same,we would of bitten any ones hand off to be where we are now,so get behind the boys and im sure they will give it their all.

How can tonyevans22 find anything positive to say about Yeates performance!? And as for them all being knackered......Barns
ley had played more games in the run up and they sure looked up for it!

Have seen some wonderful form this season on Setanta sports from Watford. To complete the trip to the promised land I think we need AA & NC at all times plus a fit John Eustace to add that steely experience?! Will be at the Vic for Blackburn & Leeds & all the Celebrations!!

Where you still one of those moaning when Yeates was in the side and we were winning,scoring goals and assists.then he returned to the bench.I would hazard a guess if loach was still here and conceded the 2nd goal v Blackpool you would be ripping him apart!! Before Yeates was taken out of the side he was playing very well.Hogg is not a goal-scorer,he is a Defensive midfielder,where as Challa and Abdi are forward thinking midfielders.Did you go to Barnsley by the way,I Doubt it.I never said Yeates was a good or bad player,but like hogg he was always on the back foot trying to get us going.Deeney didn't do anything of Note and Vydra again never made any of those sparkling runs yet again.Defensively we didn't pass the ball out,it was just rushed and punted to no one,hence the ball kept coming back!! The point I was making about certain players being knackered is that most of the loanee's came in with very little football,no pre-season and at times 3 games in a week has taken it out of them,hence GZ has tried to rotate the side and give players a rest,and that has been criticized.You can not simply blame 2 players for us losing,the side was woeful,look at the wider picture!!.Against Blackpool we would have won if it was not down to woeful referring,2 pen's not given and poor defending at the end of the game.

Fair enough Tony you make some valid points and you are right I wasnt at Barnsley due to work. But we shall have to agree to disagree on the merits of messrs Yeates and Hogg .
