CHARLTON manager Chris Powell has laughed off the latest rumours linking him with Bolton striker Marvin Sordell.

The Addicks were rumoured to be keen on bringing in Sordell in January, a claim dismissed at the time by both Powell and Trotters boss Dougie Freedman.

This week the story resurfaced again and when asked why he thought this might have happened, Powell replied: “Because his agent is most probably putting it in the paper!

“I haven’t spoken to Dougie.

“It is just something which has come up, it has come up before, maybe they’ve just put it in again?

“But we are not going to bring him in on loan, that’s for certain.

“It is nothing I’ve spoken to anyone about recently, and when I say recently, I’m talking about a few months.”
