Ainsworth hints at changes for Millers test
GARETH Ainsworth has threatened to make changes to the Wanderers side that faces Rotherham tonight after Saturday's heavy defeat at Rochdale.
Blues were beaten 4-1 and Ainsworth said those who weren't involved at Spotland will fancy their chances of being handed a start as Wanderers look for the win that should guarantee safety.
Victory against the promotion chasing Millers will take Wanderers over 50 points, the target usually seen as guaranteeing survival.
Ainsworth was hoping to get that all important victory on Saturday and he said after the game: "I still want another win to be absolutely sure of everything.
"I've got something to work on in the next couple of days and believe me I'll be doing that.
"There's some lads waiting in the wings and they'll want to think they can have a chance of playing on Tuesday.
"I might shuffle it round, we'll have to see. I had a few limping at the end, which was a little bit worrying.
"They gave everything but probably in the wrong way today. We'll put that right - Wycombe will be stronger, don't worry about that.
"It was a bad day at the office and we have to go again."
Rotherham fell to sixth in the table from the automatic promotion slots after a 2-1 home defeat by Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday.
That was a first defeat in six for Steve Evans' men, who have on occasion flattered to deceive despite being favourites for the title at the start of the season.
They've lost a third of their league matches this campaign, but eight of those twelve losses have come at their New York Stadium.
One of those was the result that arguably turned Wanderers' season around, with Blues winning 3-2 in Yorkshire when they were 92nd in the Football League.
Matt McClure scored twice and Dave Winfield once in that game, which was the first in a run that saw Wanderers win nine out of 14 games to climb the table.
