Decision on Watford v Huddersfield to be made tomorrow morning

A decision on whether Watford’s game with Huddersfield Town will go ahead as planned will be made at 9am tomorrow morning.
There was a brief meeting between all the relevant parties today and it was agreed a decision would be made tomorrow morning, the club have confirmed in the last hour.
Snow continues to fall in Hertfordshire and across the country. Earlier today the Hornets stated they “will be salting and gritting all club-owned areas inside and outside the stadium, including access points which lead to and adjoin public roads.
“The Vicarage Road playing surface has a covering of snow on it, however the pitch's undersoil heating system means that this would not cause any issue with the condition of the pitch surface.
“The club will be liaising closely with local authorities responsible for the care of areas which fall outside of the club's control.”

Game started a few minutes late as soon as RUFC got changed as their coach was late in arriving.
The game was called off on the Thursday but reinstated due to the efforts in clearing the snow.
Goals from Endean Lees 2 and Whalley, cannot remember who scored the first goal, maybe Scullion or Endean.

Lots of Arsenal fans turned up in the Rookery. Arsenal and Watford chants!!
Beat Carlisle 5-1 and went second in the table, as I remember and didn't play again 'till end of Feb - March time, by which time we were mid table.
Still got a cut out pic from the Observer of me clearing the snow with Pat Malloy, great times.

Unfortunately as others have stated it has become a health and safety issue whereby no one can take a risk and walk to a football match in the snow.
I'm sure all at WFC would rather the match be played and hopefuly get another 3 points, but I think it will become a council/police decision.

Our style of play suits good pitches so there is no excuse for us to not be winning more of our home games by excellent margins if we really do have a pitch as excellent as you claim.

Absolutely ridiculous, the pozzo's promise us premiership silky football but lack the initiative to buy sufficient pitch heating facilities. If this game is put back, it will say a lot about the club's ambition. The forecast predicted snow a few days ago, why was nothing done then? It is this failure to think ahead and be pro-active that will be the clubs downfall. We cannot afford to push games back at this VITAL part of the season as it will completely kill our momentum. Before you know it our exciting play-off hunt will transmogrify into the proverbial mid-table settling.

Lewisthegloryhorn, I agree with you when you say our 3-5-2 doesnt work at home. I disagree about Vydra though and I would say that perhaps the rotation policy might also be to blame.
BTW It was 45c here yesterday, hard to imagine all the snow around the Vic.

As for lewiswhatever, well what can you say? I'm not sure how many games JE has played for us this season but certainly not enough by far to be labelled man of the season.

The bit that worries me is "The club will be liaising closely with local authorities responsible for the care of areas which fall outside of the club's control." The local authorities are fully signed up members of the nanny state, and will have less, if any motivation to clear public walkways to get the game on!
Hope I'm proved wrong, as I'm massively excited about seeing the game today.
