Nathaniel Chalobah to stay on loan at Watford from Chelsea until the end of the season

Nathaniel Chalobah will remain on loan at Watford until the end of the season.
Confirmation the 18-year-old, who has an enjoyed an impressive first half of the season for the Hornets, is not a surprise after Gianfranco Zola told the Watford Observer on Monday that "it looks like" the midfielder would stay at Vicarage Road for the remainder of the campaign.
The paperwork has now been completed and the England Under-21 player is also available to play for Watford in their FA Cup third round tie at Manchester City on Saturday.
Zola told Watford's official website: "It's great news for us. He has become an important player for us since he came to the club.
"His performances have been getting better and better so we are delighted Chelsea have decided to leave him here.
"It's good for Nathaniel and it's also good for Chelsea because he is getting a lot of benefit from this experience.
"It is a huge boost because if we want to keep improving and chasing the teams in front of us we need to have good players and Nathaniel is one of them."

We don't need someone who might be a good defender one day, we want someone who can defend NOW. We have all agreed how lost we are without Fitz as, having sold Tiny, we have no other dominant central defender in our squad of 857 . Swap Neuton out for a big defender who can attack and head the ball in a crowded box. Ability to play the ball out of defence Luiz style is an optional extra....

To tie these players down to us will be great as they have been brilliant this season.
We must also ship out the likes of Dickinson, Garner, Iwulumo, Jenkins and Forsyth for good to reduce wage bill as we will be signing the above permanently.
We do need a back up goalie or one that could mount competition for a place with Almunia as he is our only choice really at the moment.
A natural right sided attacking midfielder would be nice as it could give us some balance on that side of the pitch.
I would say a defensive, tough no frills, hard working midfielder would be great but that is Eustace so I can't wait till he is fit to play!
Lets see what happens?
I'm still undecided on Anya and Neuton as permenant deals and we haven't seen enough of Bottacchino or Franchone to cast judgement yet and as for Belleck... He might as well go as he is way behind Vydra, Deeney, Geijo and Forestieri for a place in the match day squad. No fault of his, that's the way it's gone... Especially if we sign the three loan strikers as permanents!

Don't believe competition improves performance for a keeper like it does for an outfield player. Would Almunia play better with the fear of knowing that if he drops the next cross or shot he might be dropped? Its a confidence thing for a keeper, not a question of work rate/effort.
Plus we would not get a good experienced keeper who would be satisfied to just sit on the bench? Surely the way to go would be to get an emergency loan keeper in if Almunia was injured. We would get a better class of keeper for a guaranteed short period in the first team, than one to sit on the bench indefinitely.

Seriously.......I cannot believe what I am reading. Neuton is CLASS. Modern football is all about playing it out from the back - especially how we play - and Neuton epitomises this. He, like the rest of the team, suffered on Tuesday because he they had no defensive midfielder in front of them and the back three were missing the leadership and organisation of Fitz Hall. He is still a kid, has only played 7 games in our country and is from the other side of the world but....will only get better and better and better. Like all the young players (forestieri, hoban, murray etc.) they are developing so will have games where they look like world beaters and games where they struggle.
But give the guy a break, he is fantastic for what he does (creativity, distribution etc) and will learn about the art of defending as he gets more experience.
I for one hope he signs up permenantly.

I'm just frustrated that we were scoring goals for fun and seemed to have the defence sorted out. I really thought the top 2 were nothing special and were within reach. Now without Hall you sense we may need to score 3-4 each game to win. We can't allow ourselves to be reliant on one key defender who has a history of injury, though I agree much of the issue vs Charlton was from the lack of a defensive midfielder.

As for the Neuton bashers, I posted after the Brighton game that I was majorly worried when Fitz went off injured, to be replaced by Neuton... especially once we had conceded a daft penalty. But he was outstanding for the entire time he was on the pitch. It's all about who covers for technically gifted players like this... and that is where the apparently invisible Hogg, or the more visible JE, are so important. As long as Eustace comes back fully fit, he still has another year or two as a key midfielder. In fact, he will thrive with the creativity around him, in my view.
Time will tell.

However championship is unforgiving and poor performances will stop our momentum.
ball playing from back is essential to our style but not at the cost of defending.
Hogg stands out as a poor passer but without him to win ball we looked poor.
Those calling for Eustace have forgotten his left foot chipped percentage balls in behind which used to get our impatient crowd booing (I love John but he is a percentage player not a ball player)
At back our worst ball player its Hoban. yes he's young, yes improving and a great prospect but all teams that have done homework on him allow him to have it then close. He passes to Cassetti puts him under pressure and Cassetti flicks down the line often losing possession.
For me best back 3 is hall (think we all agree) ekstrand and cassetti. Gives experience ball playing and physical presence. Nos covers hall, doyley hoban and neuton cover the wider players. My only concern would be pace but those 3 defend and attack the ball which is vital in the championship.

one to control the centre of the park & Eustace will provide that. As for Fuller being immense I am not so sure about that either, I think Zola should have started Nosworthy to deal with his physical attributes in the place of Neuton. As for Cassetti being part of the back three, again he has too much quality going forward. If we had Eustace/Hogg & either Hall/Nosworthy playing against Charlton there is no way we would have lost. With our key players fit, especially those mentioned above I think we are certs for the play-offs. Come on you 'orns!

TBF This muskaqueer was right in keyboard warrior2's face (oh err) and his mates were there for back up but instead he pretended he was too drunk to remember me?! It told me all what I needed to know!
