Watford have just over 1,000 Manchester City FA Cup tickets left

Watford have reported that a total of 4,950 tickets have now been sold for their third round FA Cup tie against Manchester City.

This leaves just over 1,000 tickets left for the travelling Hornets’ fans. Tickets are only available for the Lower Tier after the club sold out their allocation for the Upper Tier a couple days ago.

The game against the Premier League champions is due to take place on Saturday, January 5.

The telesales hotline, which is for season ticket holders and regular match ticket purchasers, is 0844 248 5141 and for queries and discretionary sales it is 0844 856 1881.

Great not worrying about loan players being "cup tied" at the start of the transfer window.

Great to see so many tickets sold but gutted may well miss out sitting with the Watford fans. Live within five miles from the Etihad but may well miss out taking my two boys to the biggest game of the seaon.

The problem I have is that I have been to 5 away games this season but often buy tickets on the door to save booking fee at away games, which is quite siginificant when buying for yourself and kids and therefore don't meet the criteria.

Looking forward to Burnley on Saturday.

Anyone got any ideas how to stop kids jumping up when Watford score and we are sat in the away end (assuming I can borrow City membership cards from my kids friends!)?

Northgernhorn can I ask when you bought the tickets on the door, did you sit in the home end or the WFC end? It's just I live in Scotland and go to away games but have had to sit in the home end most of the time, was funny at Leeds (don't know how I didn't scream my head off).

Jamigilmore2 Didn't go to Leeds as refuse to pay the ticket prices. Definitely paid on the door at Sheffield Wed and may well have done at Huddersfield this season. I always phone both ticket offices (home and away) and check.

Guys, those that have genuinely attended away matches but paid in door, can I suggest you call the discretionary ticket line and I am sure they will help as long as genuinely been to 5 games and can articulate that clearly

Tried this yesterday and didn't work for me so will have to wait. Like I said, am fortunate in that I know some Man City supporters as live locally so hope to get tickets through them if necassary.

What I dont understand is the distinction between going to 5 away or 5 home and a combination of the two?

Moffathornet says...

5 home or 5 away is harsh. I was season ticket holder for ten years before moving north of the border but that doesn't mean anything either. Just need to keep hoping there will be enough left on Friday or like some other posters sit in man city end...I'm sure they could release some more tickets now they know we will sell out, could even charge £25 and make a bigger profit?? City won't fill the ground for little old Watford.

The rules to buy tickets can be very unfair. I used to advertise at the stadium and paid several thousand pounds a year in advertising, for many years. I could not get to too many games as I work on Saturdays, but when I tried to get a ticket for the match against Spurs they would not sell me tickets because I was not a season ticket holder, despite the fact that they knew who I was and knew I advertised at the stadium. **** Annoying!

I agree that the distinction between 5 home or 5 away games is absurd. I am a lifelong season ticket holder now living in Australia (so obviously don't meet any criteria this year!) but will be in the UK for the first 3 weeks of January. I obviously want to go to the City game, along with the others taking place during our stay, and have asked my brother (who will be on holiday and can't make the match) to try and get me a ticket. He lives in Gloucester, and has attended 4 home and 2 away games this season.....but doesn't qualify. How can attending 4 home and 2 away games be LESS worthy than attending 5 home games?! It simply doesn't make sense. Fingers crossed when they go on general sale there are still a few left.

Cheers for this, I agree with your point over £36 Leeds tickets, hence why I sat in the Leeds end for £24! I'll ring in advance to see in future, Cheers

Just what is going on with this ticketing ?

Mate and I agreed that he would sort the tickets , me the train tickets for the City clash.

He wanted three for him , his grandson
( all season ticket holders ) and me ( non season ticket holder and rang Ticket Master. For some strange reason they told him he had only been to one match this year according to Watford FC database . He's actually been to ALL games . They then said he must have not been going through the right gate ( ???? ) . Strange as he always uses the nearest turnstile in the Vic . Then told he had better contact the club. Speechless , he rang me , language was a joy to behold and said he was on his way to the club. Went to the shop and found himself in a queue with about twenty irate fans all trying to and failed to buy through TravelMaster .

Eventually all three tickets sourced . Ironic really cos personally received an e mail from WFC Monday night saying that I could buy as attended more than 5 games this year. Would have season ticket but out of the country a lot.

I had the easier task , surfing the pages of Network rail. Got train tickets through Birmingham New Street for about half the price of Watford to Manchester direct and good times too.

I know that TicketMaster have strict rules to adhere too but if somebody forks out for a season ticket surely that entitles you to .............

Let me get this straight... Logistically it's difficult for you to get to many games - because you have the misfortune of living in the frozen north. On one of the few occasions that the golden boys visit your remote outpost (Leeds) you refuse to attend on a point of principal because the tickets are, what, 5/10 quid over the odds? And you feel entitled to sympathy because you don't qualify for a ticket to the Etihad?
Why is it that whenever I read a post written by somebody with the name Alex in it I just get an impression it is written by a complete knob just looking for an argument. Maybe all the Alex's are the same person, too much of a coincidence otherwise.

I've got +5 ticket purchases this season and my dad has got 4. Telephoned today and even with all my boyish charm, still couldn't get my dad a ticket.
Looks like I'm not making the cut then, but hey, them is the rules and those that spend money with the club deserve first dibs. Still think it was a bit harsh though.

Exactly GB. I won't get a ticket through the normal routes (have a few other possibilities), it's a bummer but it's not unfair. Just need to get on with it and learn to get me Manc accent honed.

Got tickets now so very happy. Leeds for me and the kids cost about £80 two seasons ago. Burnley cost me about £74 for this Saturday for me, two kids and my dad.

Leeds are taking the mick with their prices and when buying multiple tickets for a game £5/£10 per ticket over the odds is a lot of money.

Fortunately lots of other games in north west and Yorkshire to go to. Saturday can't come quick enough.
