Former Arkley resident Geoff Jackson put in a fine performance in the Green Belt Motor Club's Tams Packaging North Weald Sprint.
Jackson, one of the club's vice presidents, returned a best time of 1min 41.6sec (60.2mph) in his Ralt RT3, which was fast enough to give him victory in the class for over 1500cc single-seater racing cars.
Overall victory went to Borough 19 Motor Club member Gino Cuomo in his Dax Rush sports car, which is powered by a turbocharged two-litre Cosworth engine.
* Green Belt Motor Club's annual Rally School starts on Wednesday, May 28. The six-week course will cover all aspects of rally driving. For more details, call Richard Warne on 07715 480228.
