Palace finally sign Sinclair

Crystal Palace have signed Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old had been on loan at the Eagles south London rivals Charlton Athletic for the past month, having chosen them ahead of Palace, but has not been involved with their first team squad for the last three games.

Neil Warnock said last week he thought a deal for the youngster was unlikely as his loan at Charlton was not due to run out until tomorrow, the day after deadline day for loans had passed.

However, with Chelsea unhappy at Sinclair's lack of first team action, it seems an agreement was reached to cancel that deal and Warnock was pleased to have finally got his man.

He said: "We are just delighted. Obviously we have been working hard behind the scenes to get him. He's the type of player we have been looking for but have been finding it difficult to get.

"We just want him to enjoy himself now really."

Sinclair has previously impressed with loan spells at Plymouth and Queens Park Rangers, and scored his first goal for Chelsea in the League Cup win over Hull.

Warnock was also hopeful of securing more deals before the end of the day.

He said: "We have made a couple of enquiries about players so maybe something will happen this afternoon."
