Following their good start to 2012 with a comfortable win over Gillingham Anchorians last week, Bexleyheath and Belvedere Ladies 1st XI were feeling confident playing away at Gore Court.
The match started at a good pace with BBHC bossing the game and putting pressure on the gore court defence. Hannah Johnson had a one on one with the keeper but failed to convert. Gore Court put up a good fight and made some fair attacks of their own but the half time whistle went with the score still 0-0.
The second half was much the same with both teams doing having equal amounts of attack. Gore court managed to open the scoring first with a well executed penalty corner which BBHC felt had been controversially awarded.
BBHC kept their heads up though and continued to push forward. Then with 2 minutes to go, a super pass from Maz Weeks found an unmarked Sorcha Crowley at the top of the D and with a clean sweep she placed the ball in the back of the net for the game to finish 1-1. Although not a full 3 points were won, BBHC came away with a well fought point.
