Youngsters shine at county tennis contest

BROMLEY Tennis Centre (BTC) in Orpington played host to the Kent winter mini finals last weekend.

Over the two days, the red county championships and the finals of both the orange and green winter qualifiers took place.

More than 70 youngsters had earned their way into the finals by playing and doing really well at a number of qualifying events held across the county.

The standard of tennis across the entire weekend was excellent, with both intelligent and skilful play on display throughout.

BTC director of tennis Sandi Procter took charge of the red event, with Kent LTA president Austin Smith presenting the prizes.

Chris Mann oversaw the orange and green finals, with the Kent office team on hand to support the event. Everyone who attended played several matches and the events were well supported by parents, family, friends and coaches.
