YOUNG members of the Deptford-based south east Shotokan Karate Association (SSKA) returned from central European karate league contest in Lodz, Poland, with six bronze medals.
The competition attracted entries from 15 European countries, with SSKA the only representative from the UK.
Samer Jaher, Kai McLaughlin and Arthur Farrant won their bronze in the team kata category.
Jaher also claimed another bronze in the individual kata, while Janay Pinnock and Jada Lee took a bronze apiece in the individual kumite.
Prior to the event, the medal winners were joined by Holly and Necla Graham-Mason and their instructor at a training camp in Poland, organised by the club’s chief instructor, Sensei Essam Shreif.
The club trains at the Wavelengths Leisure Centre in Deptford and hopes to run another much bigger camp next summer.
