A MEMBER of Dartford Golf Club battled well in testing conditions to win the open regional qualifying contest at Rochester & Cobham GC last Wednesday.

Michael Saunders, 18, shot a three under par round of 68 to win by two clear shots.

Both he and fellow Dartford GC colleague Dan Byrne, who finished joint fourth, are through to the final qualifying stages at Kilmarnock next week, where they will take on top international and national players.
