WASPS have added to their clutch of talented youngsters by securing the services of England U20 back Tommy Bell from Sale.
Bell, who can play full back, fly half and centre, will link up with his older brother Chris, who joined Wasps from Sale last summer.
The 19-year-old was on loan at Leeds last season, where he scored 234 points in 21 games to land the club’s Young Player of the Year and Supporters’ Player of the Year awards.
Director of rugby at Wasps Dai Young said: “As a young English player with huge potential, we are delighted to welcome Tommy to the squad. He impressed up at Leeds last season and he’ll provide us with excellent options across the backline.”
But before Bell comes to Wycombe, there is the small matter of the Junior World Cup in South Africa this summer.
He said: “Playing regularly this season in the Championship with Leeds has allowed me to kick-on, and I’m excited about joining up with Wasps this summer for the next phase of my career.
“For now though my focus is on the Junior World Championships – the training camp and our preparation have been good, so hopefully we can do England proud in South Africa.”
