Wasps issue a call to arms

Dai Young Dai Young

WASPS have urged fans to be the team’s 16th man during a run of three home games out of the next four.

Saracens, Exeter and London Irish all come to Wycombe in the next month and the black and golds need to make that run of fixtures count as they bid to pull away from bottom club Newcastle.

Director of rugby Dai Young said: “It’s my first season in the Aviva Premiership and one thing I have been really impressed with is the large crowds when we go away who make visiting venues very daunting.

“I don’t think you can underestimate what an impact a large crowd on away teams can have and I would love it if we could create a really tough atmosphere for Saracens, Exeter and London Irish, three huge games for us.

“We have had some really great crowds this year who have been brilliant at getting behind us and making as much noise as possible, but I suppose this is an appeal to any fans who might just come to the odd game.

“I am well aware that times are tough for people at the moment but if we can get a large vocal crowd down here to back-up the fans who come week in week out it could make a huge difference.”
