JOHN McCloskey will go from one teaching job to another when he leaves his post as a primary school teacher in Belfast to become skills coach at Wasps next month.
McCloskey has not taken a typical route to Adams Park.
His coaching history is rooted in Gaelic Football and he also has experience in athletics, NFL and Aussie Rules.
There is some rugby union there too though. He has been on training camps with Ireland and England and won Wasps over during a two-day coaching stint with the club last season.
He said: “I’ve been around a number of different sports growing up.
“I’ve always believed you have to move outside your sport and comfort zone if you want to improve.
“I’m a bit nervous about joining Wasps. It’s challening, but I’m excited.”
