Harlequin Ladies 12 Plymouth Albion 20, In their first home game of the season Harlequin Ladies were narrowly beaten 12-20 by Plymouth Albion.

It was not long before Quins Ladies turned pressure into points when England U/19 international, Leah Carey, took the ball from the back of the lineout and powered over the line for Kate Sinfield to kick the conversion.

Strong scrummaging created openings for Plymouth to reply with two tries of their own. But the remainder of the first-half brought numerous turnovers with Alex Burbidge taking advantage to crash through the Plymouth defence and equalise just before half-time.

Plymouth scored a try early in the second half and followed this up with a penalty to take an eight point lead.

Quins came back strong at Plymouth but resolute defending held them from the line. Harlequin Ladies are always on the look out for players and train on Wednesday and Friday nights from 7.30pm to 9pm on the training pitch behind the 1st XV pitch at The Stoop.
