Aussie hooker Caputo signs for Harlequins
4:43pm Wednesday 28th August 2002 in Harlequins
HARLEQUINS have signed hooker Marco Caputo on a short-term contract.
The 31 year-old Caputo won five caps for Australia between June 1996 and July 1997, making a try scoring debut against Wales on June 9th, 1996 in Brisbane. He was also part of the Montferrand squad that competed in last seasons Heineken Cup.
With Keith Wood away on international duty during the early part of the new Zurich Premiership season, and James Hayter (foot) and Tani Fuga (hand) still recovering from injury, Quins were in need of some cover in the hooker position.
Caputo will be available for selection for Quins opening game of the Zurich Premiership season at home to Gloucester on Saturday August 31st kick-off 3pm at the Stoop.
