Crystal Palace are hopeful of landing long-term transfer target Khouma Babacar this month.

The Eagles have been interested in the Fiorentina striker since 2016.

Selhurst Park chiefs were believed to have met Babacar’s agent in November to discuss a January move.

Palace want to bolster their attacking options and Babacar would add much-needed depth to their frontline.

And Sky Sports says the Eagles have made a bid for the Senegal international, who is struggling for game time at Fiorentina.

Babacar, 24, came through the Serie A club’s academy and has made 97 league appearances in that time, scoring 27 goals.

Christian Benteke, Palace's only fit senior striker, has found the net just once this season.
