Crystal Palace and West Ham will battle it out to sign Inter Milan defender Davide Santon.

The two Premier League clubs are believed to be chasing Santon, who is deemed surplus to requirements at the San Siro.

The former Newcastle left-back featured just 15 times for Inter in a disappointing 2016/17 Serie A campaign.

Palace have Jeffrey Schlupp and Patrick van Aanholt vying for the left-back spot at Selhurst Park. But Santon is known for his versatility and can play as a right-back.

Meanwhile, West Ham need cover for young defender Sam Byram.

Santon, 26, could be keen on a move back to the Premier League after he established himself in Newcastle’s top-flight team.
